Meetings and Troop Info:

  • Meetings conducted in Class A uniforms.
  • Approximately 25 registered Scouts
  • Approximately 15 registered Scouters, most of whom have been trained to various degrees.
  • We are PROUD to have graduated 58 Eagle Scouts from Troop 34 since we were founded in 1956.   Since 1991 alone, 37 of our young men have reached the rank of Eagle.

Activity and High Adventure Info:

  • The Troop attends Summer Camp each year in Wisconsin at Camp Napowan usually during July.
  • Our High Adventure program has been extensive over the years with previous trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, canoeing the Boundary Waters of Canada, backpacking in Colorado and Wyoming, an international trip to England & Scotland, and a week of SCUBA DIVING in the Cay Sal Banks in the Bahamas.  Our trip in the summer of 2004 was a canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Park in the Canadian Boundary Waters -- flying in and out from Minnesota on small pontoon planes. In 2005 we did Napowan High Adventure Biking and Rock Climbing. In 2006 we backpacked the length of Isle Royale in Lake Superior. In 2007 we returned to Philmont. In 2008 we again will canoe the Boundary Waters -- from the BSA Northern Tier base this time.
  • Our outdoor camping program covers 10 or 11 months of the year.  As a Troop, we are well outfitted with troop camping gear that travels with us most of the time in our customized troop trailer.
  • The Scout Program is great for building character and spirit within the Scouts, and it is this SPIRIT that we also like to show as we travel to ALL outings in Class A uniforms.

Our goals and mission:

We provide a peer group of 11 to 17 year old boys who respect and live by the Scout Oath and Law.  We provide solid role models – both in the adult leaders and in the older Scouts.  With this steady foundation, Troop 34 has had the honor of seeing many young Scouts over the years grow and mature into young men filled with confidence and self-reliance.  The boy-led organization develops leadership skills.  Along the way, they learn that working together with others and sharing challenging experiences has given them character-building memories that they will never forget.  This is what drives the SCOUTING program within TROOP 34 now and in the years to come!
