Troop
34 High Adventure
2002
Our
destination for 2002 High Adventure was the Bahamas!!!
This
year’s High Adventure had us spending a week living aboard a dive
boat known as the Nekton Rorqual
out
of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Our
diving adventure took us to a very remote area of the Bahamas called
the Cay
Sal Bank, an area known for its high concentration of Blue Holes.
We
had the opportunity to do 5 dives a day (two in the morning, two in
the afternoon, and a night dive).
The
plans for this trip actually started last year with all participants
getting PADI
Open Water Certification through local dive shops.
This was a requirement before anyone new to the sport of diving
could go on the trip this year so that the cruise time would be used
for diving instead of training. We
also had three group Check-Out-Dives planned so the new skills learned
in the training could be practiced and a stronger comfort level
achieved.
This
was an INCREDIBLE adventure that exposed all to sights and experiences
that we will never forget. If
you have any questions about the trip, please don’t hesitate giving
me a call. Mark Hicks
So
with that said . . . “LETS GO DIVING” . . ! ! !
No
cooking or cleaning duty rosters here…
